Summer Jenkins Death – Deputy Summer Elizabeth Jenkins, a dedicated member of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 27. Born on May 24, 1997, in Louisville, Kentucky, Summer was the daughter of Bob Jenkins and Lisa Melson. She graduated with honors from Avon High School in Indiana, where she excelled in academics, sports, and the performing arts.
She discovered her passion for law enforcement while attending the University of Dayton, where she studied mechanical engineering and participated in the student police academy. Summer graduated from the Sinclair Law Enforcement Academy in July 2020 and began her career with the Colerain Police Department. She later served with the Cedarville Police Department, providing security for notable figures such as Governor Mike DeWine and comedian Dave Chappelle.
In September 2024, Summer joined the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, earning the respect of her colleagues through her dedication and professionalism. Beyond her career, she was a talented artist and musician, loved for her kindness and sensitivity.
A visitation was held on December 29, 2024, at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home in Springfield, Ohio, followed by a funeral service on December 30. She was laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery in Indiana.
