Acushnet, MA – Tragedy struck on Christmas Day in Acushnet, Massachusetts, as an elderly couple lost their lives in a devastating house fire. Local and state authorities have confirmed the identities of the victims as 89-year-old Leo Lyonnais and his 87-year-old wife, Annette Lyonnais.

The fire occurred at the couple’s residence on Garfield Street in the early hours of December 25. Emergency responders, including firefighters and police, arrived at the scene at approximately 1:50 a.m.

Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the fire, but preliminary findings suggest it may be related to a wood stove and a wall outlet with a multi-prong adapter in the area where the fire is believed to have started.
