The FBI has confirmed that the attack is being investigated as an act of terrorism.

At approximately 3:17 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched after reports of a vehicle ramming into a crowd of pedestrians in the bustling Bourbon Street area. The vehicle struck several individuals before crashing and coming to a halt.

Upon arrival, authorities found the tragic toll:

A graphic image circulating online shows the suspect lying deceased outside the damaged vehicle. Federal sources have revealed that the truck used in the attack entered the U.S. through Eagle Pass, Texas, two days before the incident. Investigators are now working to trace the suspect’s movements and potential connections.

Authorities are still working to confirm the suspect’s identity and citizenship status. Federal agencies are collaborating to determine if the suspect acted alone or as part of a broader network.
