Video Shows CPR Administered to Suspect in Deadly New Orleans Car-Ramming Attack
New Orleans, LA – A harrowing video has emerged showing first responders performing CPR on the suspect involved in a deadly car-ramming attack that claimed 10 lives and injured over 30 others in New Orleans.
The suspect, described as a terrorist, was fatally shot by police after a rampage in which a truck was driven into a crowded area, causing mass casualties. Investigators later discovered what they believe to be an improvised explosive device (IED) inside the vehicle.
City Councilmember Oliver Thomas praised the swift and decisive actions of law enforcement, stating, “Police officers saved thousands of lives today.” Thomas also confirmed that additional explosive devices were found near the scene, further highlighting the potential for widespread devastation.
The suspect, armed with a long gun fitted with a silencer, carried out what authorities described as a calculated and premeditated attack. Officers with the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) engaged the suspect in a shootout, neutralizing the threat and preventing further loss of life.
The chaotic scene saw emergency personnel working tirelessly to treat the injured, secure the area, and mitigate further danger from discovered explosive devices.
Authorities are now investigating the suspect’s motives, potential accomplices, and the origins of the explosives, which included secondary devices that added to the attack’s calculated nature.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell and other city officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.
“This attack has left an indelible mark on our city,” Cantrell said, urging residents to support one another during this challenging time.
This incident, one of the deadliest in New Orleans’ history, has left the city grieving for the victims and rallying behind the survivors as authorities continue their investigation.
