Miami County Authorities Investigate Fatal Domestic Shooting in Union Township
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of December 30, 2024, in the 5000 block of Monroe Concord Road, resulting in the death of 54-year-old Daniel H. Davis.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 6:54 p.m. and arrived to find Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported him via medical helicopter to a hospital in Montgomery County, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the shooting stemmed from a domestic argument between Davis and his son, 22-year-old Daniel H. Davis Jr., who also resides in Union Township. Authorities allege that during the dispute, Davis Jr. shot his father with a handgun before surrendering to deputies without resistance.
Davis Jr. has been charged with Aggravated Murder and is currently being held at the Miami County Jail. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to collect evidence and conduct interviews, and the case will be reviewed by the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office.
