The Dolgeville community is mourning the sudden passing of Justin Michael Hayes, a beloved son, father, and entrepreneur, who died unexpectedly at the age of 36 on [date]. Justin was born to Stanley “Bub” Hayes Jr. and Jeanne Hayes and grew up in Dolgeville, NY, where he graduated from Dolgeville Central School in 2006. From a young age, Justin’s enthusiasm for life and his natural ability to connect with others made him a cherished presence in his community. His genuine heart, outgoing personality, and fierce loyalty earned him the love and admiration of everyone fortunate enough to call him a friend.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Justin was best known for his love of basketball. Nicknamed “Blaze” by friends for his speed and agility on the court, he left a lasting impression with his athleticism and competitive spirit. Beyond basketball, Justin’s active lifestyle and love for sports continued to be a defining part of his life, though basketball always held a special place in his heart.
Justin also had a deep love for music, which served as both an outlet for self-expression and a way to bring people together. His passion for music extended beyond listening; it became a core part of how he connected with others, introducing them to new sounds and sharing favorite songs that reflected his vibrant personality.
An entrepreneur at heart, Justin founded Never Fearing Heights (NFH) on June 1, 2010, with the mission to inspire others to pursue their passions fearlessly. His drive and determination also led him to launch J.N.A. Games, a testament to his creativity and love for gaming. He later joined GameStop in Herkimer as a Key Holder, a role he cherished for the opportunity to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with customers and colleagues alike.
Justin’s professional endeavors were only part of his legacy. His most profound role was as a loving fiancé to Briana Marie Lewis and a devoted father to his four children: Ashen, Parker, Brantley Michael, and Cason Charles Hayes. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he worked tirelessly to be a role model and a source of strength for his children.
Justin shared an unbreakable bond with his brother, Stanley Hayes III, who was his best friend and confidant. Together, they created countless memories that will be cherished forever. Justin is survived by his parents, Stanley and Jeanne Hayes; his fiancé, Briana Lewis; his children, Ashen, Parker, Brantley, and Cason; his brother, Stanley Hayes III; and a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his grandparents Glenn Sr. and Jean Lamphere, his uncle Wayne Lamphere, and his beloved dog, Chi-Chi.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Chapman-Moser Funeral Home. A graveside service will be announced in the spring, followed by a celebration of Justin’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to support the future expenses of his children.
