Man Killed in Christmas Eve Crash Identified by Fairfax County Police

The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) has identified the victim of a fatal accident involving a tractor-trailer in Chantilly on Christmas Eve. The deceased has been confirmed as 33-year-old Amin Emad-Eldin Hammoud of Centreville.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on December 23 near Sully Road and Poplar Tree Road. According to police, a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia traveling in the far-right lane veered across the white line and struck Hammoud, who was standing outside his disabled vehicle. Tragically, Hammoud succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The truck driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fairfax County police have stated that neither speed nor alcohol is believed to be factors in the ongoing investigation.

Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the accident.
