OPP Officer Remembered for Dedicated Service
Jonathan Lacelle, a dedicated member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), began his career as an Auxiliary Officer with the Hawkesbury Unit in October 2006. He officially joined the regular force on August 25, 2008, at the Dryden (Ignace) Detachment.
After completing his posting in Dryden, Jonathan returned to Hawkesbury on January 23, 2012. Most recently, on September 18, 2023, he became a valued member of the East Region Emergency Response Team.
Tragically, Jonathan passed away at the age of 39, leaving behind a legacy of over 16 years of service with the OPP.
Heartfelt condolences are extended to the Lacelle family, friends, colleagues, and the members of the East Region. Funeral arrangements for Jonathan will be announced once available.
In support of Jonathan’s family, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist his loving wife, Catherine, and their three children, Ella, Zoe, and Max, during this difficult time.
